Bahrain Team Pindar, skipper Ian Williams, got off  to a solid start to the season yesterday, securing his place in the quarter-finals of the Marseille International Match Race in France, the first event on the 2009 World Match Racing Tour.

The World Match Racing Tour has announced its schedule of events for 2009, where reigning champion Ian Williams and his Bahrain Team Pindar crew, will be striving for a third consecutive world title.

Leading British sailor, Ian Williams (Bahrain Team Pindar) today won his second consecutive ISAF World Match Racing title at the Monsoon Cup in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia, the final and deciding event of the 2008 World Match Racing Tour.
